N2 - This paper presents a study of given-new information structure and theme-rheme articulation in a corpus of UNESCO resolutions. The analysis explores the interplay of factors motivating the genre specific choices of thematic progression and considers the role of section and sub-section headings in information processing and their contribution to perception of coherence and cohesion in the colony text of a 'Resolutions' volume.
