Abstract
Recent data concernign hippocampal morphology in schizophrenia, its genetic background and functional consequences suggest that schizophrenia can be viewed as a disorder of connectivity of heteromodal association cortex leading to inefficient cooperation between the systems that participate on higher stages of information processing.

Aktuální data, která se týkají morfologie hipokampu u schizofrenie, její genetické podmínění a funkční důsledky naznačují, že schizofrenii lze považovat za onemocnění konektivity heteromodálního asociačního kortexu, které vede k nedostatečné spolupráci systémů, které participují na vyšších úrovních zpracování informací.
