TY - JOUR ID - 707741 AU - Schimek, Michael - Pavlík, Tomáš PY - 2006 TI - A comparative study of false discovery rate procedures in R PB - Statistical Modelling Society CY - Galway, Ireland SN - 1862201803 KW - Correlation KW - Error control KW - False Discovery Rate KW - Microarray N2 - Statistical procedures for the identification of differentially expressed genes in microarray studies involve a serious multiple comparison problem as we have to carry out as many hypothesis testings as the number of candidate genes in the experiment. This paper is concerned with the recent type I error control concept of the false discovery rate (FDR), for which an increasing number of competing estimates is available in R. However, there is little comparative evidence. Based on the most popular modified t-statistic independent as well as co-regulated gene expression measurements are compared in a simulation study. Finally conclusions are drawn for practical microarray analysis. ER -
