This phenomenon is explained by combination of following effects: increase of reduced electric field, changes of wall properties and homogeneous reactions. Surprisingly, very similar phenomenon is observed even for the oxygen added to the nitrogen late post-discharge. This increase is such well pronounced and fast that it can not be explained by the decrease of wall recombination only. The major role of some homogeneous reaction (or set of reactions), probably involving the energetic particles, is therefore clear. In this paper, we show the experimental results and we discuss probable reaction paths that can lead to the increase of nitrogen dissociation when a small amount of oxygen is added to the post-discharge.
