Abstract
Complexity and coherence as two important linguistics terms are at the core of a two-year joint Czech-German project between Brno Masaryk University, Czech Republic, and Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany. The authors explain how they understand the two important notions and in particular how they are related to one another in English texts and teaching.

Komplexita a koherence jako dva významné lingvistické termíny jsou jádrem společného dvouletého česko-německého projektu mezi brněnskou Masarykovou univerzitou v ČR a Technickou univerzitou v Chemnitzu, Německo. Autořu vysvětlují, jak ve svém výzkumu chápou tyto dva důležité pojmy, a dále, jak jsou tyto pojmy vzájemně propojeny a jak souvisejí s analýzou anglických textů a výukou angličtiny.
