TY - JOUR ID - 720449 AU - Krulová, Jana - Kummerová, Marie - Váňová, Lucie PY - 2007 TI - Photoinduced toxicity of fluoranthene in pea plants PB - Výzkumný ústav rostlinné výroby, v.v.i., Praha-Ruzyně CY - Praha SN - 9788087011003 KW - fluoranthene KW - photomodification KW - pea plants KW - germination KW - root and shoot elongation N2 - The effect of increasing concentration (0.01, 0.1, 1 and 5 mg/l) of intact fluoranthene (FLT) and photomodified fluoranthene (phFLT) on germination and root and shoot elongation in pea plants (Pisum sativum L., cv. Garde) was investigated. The obtained results demonstrated, that all applied concentrations of intact and especially photomodified FLT affected the germination and the root and shoot elongation of pea plant seedlings. Photomodified FLT appeared to be more toxic than the intact FLT. The higher concentration 1 and 5 mg/l of FLT and especially phFLT significantly inhibited the germination of pea plants. Fluoranthene 1 and 5 mg/l caused significant inhibition of the length of root while the length of shoot was affected only by 5 mg/l FLT. Concentration 1 and 5 mg/l of photomodified FLT significantly affected the length of both root and shoot. ER -
