Abstract
Problematic of competitiveness has marked spatial dimension. It is the potential of regions what influences future economic success. Contribution indicates substance of competitiveness in the light of its general definition and possibilities of its evaluation on the regional level. Analytic study of Czech regions NUTS 3 is included.

Problematika konkurenceschopnosti má výraznou prostorovou dimenzi. Právě potenciál regionů rozhodujícím způsobem ovlivňuje budoucí ekonomický úspěch. Příspěvek naznačuje podstatu konkurenceschopností ve světle její obecné definice a možnosti jejího hodnocení na regionální úrovni. Součástí je analytická studie českých regionů NUTS 3.
