Abstract
Contribution deals with British concept of torts both on the level of civil law rules as well as conflict rules. Reader will be introduced to the systematics of tort law classification in Anglo-Saxon law systems and to the legally-technical way of tort law formulation, which is significantly different from continental law. Last but not least a short summary of basic characteristics of torts is held. This topic is followed by analysis of basic conflict rules according to which British courts proceeded for more that one hundred years and which were replaced by rules in Private International Law Act 1995. Description of the latest mentioned is a part of this contribution as well.
