Anotace
We assumed that frequency and volume of leisure-time activities would have a direct impact on the state of health level of the survey pool. The goal of the research was to present findings about leisure-time physical activities, state of health, most common health problems and mutual connections among monitored parameters in surveyed age groups of populations. During the years 2004 2007, information about overall leisure-time physical activities and state of health was collected through inquiry methods in selected middle age and older age groups. The survey pool of 1916 respondents was created by random sampling. Of the total 1916 respondents, 1089 were women and 827 men. There were 1734 middle age respondents and 182 older age respondents. For data processing, we used the Statistica programme. Specifically, we applied the events interdependence method in nominal measurement. After identifying the frequency of specific numerical sets, first stage classification (for relative frequency) and second-stage classification (contingency tables) were performed to determine correlations between items in the questionnaires. Between years of 2004 2007 was Evaluation of respondents basic biological and anthropometric data revealed the alarming fact that the average BMI was 26.5 for men and 24.3 for women, which is in both cases considered overweight. Evaluation of type and weekly frequency of sports and recreational physical activities showed that the most common sports activities among respondents were walking for health (n=1381), bicycling including stationary bicycling (n=1127) and swimming (n=618). When evaluating the correlation between physical activity and state of health, we confirmed by using Pearsons chi square test, that state of health is influenced by the volume of physical activity. We ascertained that the part of the poll that engages in a physical activity for 400 1000 minutes per week does indeed show better health than groups with a smaller or bigger volume of physical activity.Conclusions: 49 % of women and 64 % of men suffer, according to BMI, from overweight or obesity; The most popular recreational physical activity among respondents from the fifth decennium is walking for health; A physical activity popular among all age groups including the older age population is bicycling or stationary bicycling; Only one in ten middle age and older age people (within the survey poll) does not have any health problems at all.
