Abstract
A brief review of the development of the concept of Lepage forms is presented, from the Lepage's idea to its application in calculus of variations and variational sequences. Original results concerning applications of Lepage forms in relativity nad string theories are presented.

Článek obsahuje stručný přehled o vývoji pojmu Lepageových forem od původní Lepageovy myšlenky k aplikacím Lepageových forem ve variačním počtu a teorii variační posloupnosti. Jsou prezentovány původní výpočty ukazující použití Lepageových forem v relativitě a teorii strun.
