Abstract

Einblicke in den Übersetzungsprozeß bei der Arbeit an der ersten tschech. Übertragung von Hofmannsthals Rede Das Schrifttum als geistiger Raum der Nation. Im Dialog mit Übersetzungsprinzipien von José Ortega y Gasset Miseria y Esplendor de la Traducción (Elend und Glanz der Übersetzung) wird auf die übersetzerischen cruces aufmerksam gemacht. Die Rhythmisierung von Hofmannsthals Prosa, Lautinstrumentierung (Alliteration, Assonanz, Reimung), der einmalige metaphorische Sprachgebrauch, stilistische Variationen beim Gebrauch von Fremdwörtern und einheimischen Ausdrücken, Kryptozitate und Allusionen manifestieren im hermetischen Text Hofmannsthals Charakteristik des Deutschen als Individualsprache im Gegensatz zum Französischen als Gemeinsprache. Des weiteren wird Hofmannsthals oft mißverstander Begriff einer konservativen Revolution im Lichte der festgestellten Resonanz von Hofmannsthals Lektüre-Rezeption im Text erörtert. Am Rande wird die eher zufällige Aufnahme von Hofmannsthals Essayistik im tschechischsprachigen Milieu erwähnt.

Sondy do překladatelského procesu při práci na prvním čes. překladu řeči Písemnictví jako duchovní prostor národa (Das Schrifttum als geistiger Raum der Nation) Hugona v. Hofmannsthala upozorňují v dialogu s překladatelskými zásadami José Ortegy y Gasset (Miseria y Esplendor de la Traducción/ Bída a lesk překladu) na úskalí převodu. Rytmizace prózy, hlásková instrumentace, solitérní metaforika, styl. variace v užívání cízích a domácích slov, kryptocitáty a literární narážky manifestují v hermetickém textu názorně autorovu charakteristiku němčiny jako individualizujícího jazyka (Individualsprache) proti francouzštině jakožto sociálnímu jazyku (Gemeinsprache). Modifikuje se Hofmannsthalův často zkreslovaný pojem konservativní revoluce vzhledem k zjištěným ohlasům autorovy četby v textu. Okrajově se zmiňuje spíše nahodilá recepce autorovy esejistiky v čes. prostředí.

Abstract (in English)

This examination of the process of translation involved in the preparation of the first translation into Czech of Hugo von Hofmannsthal's address Literature as Spiritual Space of the Nation ("Das Schrifttum als geistiger Raum der Nation) enters ito a creative dialogue with the translation principles propounded by José Ortega y Gasset in his Miseria y Esplendor de la Traducción in order to indicate the difficulties of rendering a literary text faithfully in a different language. Devices such as the rhythmization of prose, phonetic instrumentation, idiosyncratic use of metaphors, stylistic variation in the use of domestic and foerign words, cryptocitations and literary allusions in this hermetic text clearly reflect the writer's characterization of German as an individualizing language (Individualsprache). Hofmannsthal's often misrepresented concept of a conservative Revolution is modified in the light of the echoes of the writer's own reading that are shown to be present in the text. Dealt with to a minor extent is the somewhat random reception of Hofmannsthal's work as an essayist in the Czech literary scene, a state of affairs that continues to the present day.
