Článek přináší analýzu osobních jmen ve staročeské hře Mastičkář z poloviny 14. století. Osobní jména ve hře lze rozdělit do dvou skupin symbolizujících dva světy: (1) jména vystupujících postav (aktérů děje), která jsou původu cizího a odkazují k Bibli, ke křesťanskému a antickému světu; (2) jména ostatních postav, neaktérů děje, která jsou původu českého. Je podána jejich slovotvorná analýza a zdůrazněn fakt, že v textu hry se významně podílí na rýmovém schematu a symbolizují lidový svět hry. Jména ve hře lze chápat také jako symboly typů lidí a jejich vlastností (Abraham-Žid-obchodník, Pustrpalk-Němec).

The article focuses on the analysis of the personal names in the old Czech play Mastičkář from the half of the 14th century. The personal names in the play can be divided into two groups symbolizing two worlds: (1) the names of the playing characters (involved in the action) that are of the foreign origin and that refer to the Bible, to the christian and ancient world; (2) the names of other characters, non-players, that are of the Czech origin. Their word-building analysis is presented in the text. The article also points out that the names (2) significantly participate in the rhyme scheme and symbolize the folk world of the play. The names in the play can also be understood as symbols of the types of people and their characters (Abraham - the Jude - tradesman, Pustrpalk - the German).
