The acronym BRIC was used at first in 2001. It is the abbreviation from the first letter of countries Brazil, Russia, India and China. In this article I try to answer why these four countries were selected and what is the main idea of BRIC. We focus on economic and financial aspects in China, especially. I also try to outline further prospect of this country.

Akronym BRIC byl poprvé představen v roce 2001. BRIC představuje zkratku z prvních písmem názvů zemí Brazíli, Rusko, Indie a Čína. V tomto článku se pokoušíme najít odpověď na to, proč právě tyto čtyři země byly vybrány a co je hlavní idea BRIC. Zaměříme se na finanční a ekonomické aspekty v Číně. Také se pokusíme nastínit další vývoj v této zemi.
