Necessary interdisciplinary approach caused the rise of biogeomorphology. This contribution assesses the morphological influence of woody debris on channel morphology within three Lužnice River reaches 1 km long firstly. There was determined the share of pieces with any morphological activity in each reach. Morphologically active pieces were evaluated from size, state and mobility point of view. Then was realized the analysis of channel historical development, based on aerial photos from 1954 to 2008. The floodplain was divided in two types of surface (in meadow and forest area) in each period. It was detected, how large area was eroded. If the forest area was eroded, we can approximately determine the input of woody debris to the river channel. The rate of bank erosion in six selected concave banks in dependence on type of riparian vegetation was studied in the last part. ER -
