Products were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In order to estimate occurring possible reaction mechanism and optimal annealing temperature the thermal analysis (TGA and DTA) of obtained RE-Mo-O citrate gels was performed. Moreover, the crystallinity, morphological features, and luminescent properties of RE2Mo3O12 powders annealed at different temperatures using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence(PL) measurements were also investigated.
