The article is an encyclopedia entry reviewing the contribution of Professor Ronald R. Butters to the disciplines of sociolinguistics and forensic linguistics. Článek je encyklopedickým heslem o prof. Ronaldu R. Buttersovi a jeho přínosu pro moderní sociolingvistiku a forenzní jazykovědu. Text odkazuje na soudní případy, v nichž Butters vystupoval jako znalec, především v oblasti obchodních firem a ochranných značek, a přibližuje jeho originální přístup k této problematice.
