Kniha přináší podrobnou analýzu vybraných subkultur mládeže. Text vychází z teoretického i metodologického ukotvení tématu a definuje základní pojmy: mládež, kultura, subkultura, scéna, životní styl, hnutí a další. Představuje též vybrané sociologické školy (jako je škola chicagská či birminghamská), které se tématu subkultur věnují. Autor se zabývá typologií subkultur mládeže a jejich vztahem k sociálněpatologickým jevům, médiím, trhu a politice. Blíže představuje subkultury hippies, skinheads, fotbalové chuligány, punk/hard core, graffiti, metal, gothic rock a taneční scénu.

The book provides a detailed analysis of selected youth subcultures. The text is based on theoretical and methodological anchor theme and defines key terms: youth, culture, subculture, scene, lifestyle, movement etc. Is also the selected sociological school (such as the Chicago School and Birmingham), which is dedicated subculture. The author examines the typology of youth subcultures and their relationship to socio-pathological phenomena, media, market and politics. Closer to a subculture of hippies, skinheads, football hooligans, punk / hardcore, graffiti, metal, gothic rock and dance scene.
