Abstract

Die Europäische Union vertritt in ihrem Mehrsprachigkeitskonzept u.a. die These, dass speziell die Nachbarsprachen besonders gefördert werden sollten. Die Untersuchung trägt Daten zur Grenzregion Tschechien-Österreich aus der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart zusammen, um die reale Umsetzung dieser sprachenpolitischen Ziele zu beleuchten.

EU zastává v konceptu mnohojazyčnosti obyvatel tezi, že je nutné podporovat především jazyky sousedů navzájem. Pohled do minulosti a současnosti rakousko-českého příhraničí dává tušit, jak to s jazykově-politickým cílem vypadá ve skutečnosti.

Abstract (in English)

One of the objectives of the EU - Multilingual Concept is to force interests for languages of neighbouring countries. The situation in a Mid-European region can be a good example for focusing these issues. This research brings a short review of the language contacts between the Czech and German elements in the past and today. From the point of view of the language policy, it sees possibilities for developing new contacts and economic advantages for both sides.
