Abstract

In the original language

Halide salts are used as raw materials in industrial processes and they are also present in natural mineral waters. Due to the wide impact of those anions on health and environment there is a need for fast, inexpensive and practical methods for halide anion determination. The azodyes are well known as widely utilized chromogenic reagents for determination of a number of metal ions. Unfortunately, their determination is in some cases hampered by the presence of interfering anions. This contribution discuss the results of the analysis of this phenomena for selected Tl(III)-PAR system which was employed for determination of iodide, bromide, and chloride after optimization of experimental conditions. Since the color change in aqueous solution caused by a ligand substitution reaction is sufficiently large, the studied system can be used as potential inexpensive halide chemosensor available for general practice. The attempt to analyze halide(s) in mixture was done by experimental data treatment by ANN.
