Abstract

V originále

Our aim was to do a search of books dealing with karate issue that were published in the Czech Republic. The results show that similarly as in other branches, the literature was influenced by the regime change in 1989. Until that year approximately no more than four books by Czech authors were published. After the revolution in 1989 the book production has increased many times. Books by foreign authors either current or from previous times have been translated. In the future we can still expect a slight increase in the sphere of book translation. Books have been written mainly by Czech and Japanese authors and also Slovaks and Germans. Regular book production can be basically noticed in the last twenty years. Presently, experts as well as the public have the possibility of trouble-free access to Czech and foreign information resources. Due to this fact we can expect the future decades to be beneficial to production of karate books.
