Abstract

Lidé, kteří se liší od standardu diktovaného módou, mívají často větší obtíže při navazování kontaktů a současně mohou trpět pocity méněcennosti. Otoplastika je označení pro chirurgickou operaci, při níž jsou korigovány ušní boltce tak, aby odpovídaly vžité představě o tom, jak má správný boltec vypadat. Materiál a metodika: Na Dětské ORL klinice FN Brno byla v letech 2000 – 2010 provedena plastika boltců u 339 pacientů, u 112 chlapců a 218 dívek. Průměrný věk pacientů byl 7 let. Diskuse: Při sledování vývoje přístupu k vlastnímu vzhledu z hlediska tohoto hendikepu a také přístupu vrstevníků i rodičů můžeme vymezit 5 období: 1. narození až po 3. rok života; 2. předškolní věk; 3. mladší školní věk; 4. starší školní věk; 5. puberta a adolescence. Závěr: Otoplastikou lze minimalizovat negativní vliv méně atraktivního vzhledu na sebehodnocení dítěte, neboť ve chvíli, kdy si začne samo svého zevnějšku všímat, už bude mít „normální“ uši.

Abstract (in English)

Introduction: People who differ from standards dictated by fashion often encounter greater problems in making contacts and at the same time may suffer from inferiority complex. Otoplasty is the name of a surgical operation correcting the auricles in order to correspond to accepted view how a correct auricle should look like. Material and methods: At the Children ENT Clinic of Faculty Hospital at Brno, auricle plasty was performed in 282 patients, 99 boys and 183 girls during 2000-2007. The mean age of the patients was 7 years. Discussion: In the observation of the evolution of the view of the patients own appearence from the standpoint of the handicap a five- year period can be outlined: 1) birth to 3rd year of the life, 2) preschool age, 3)younger school age, 4) older school age, 5) puberty and adolescence. Conclusion: Otoplasty can minimize the negative effect of a less attractive appearence on the childs self-evaluation, since at the moment when chid becomes aware of the own looks he/she has already undergone the surgery to provide "normal" ears.
