Anotace
V originále
My topic concerns Czech elderly people, their values and attitudes. Ageing and the elderly have substantially changed in recent times. The active ageing concept has become a dominant discourse of the changed way of ageing. The concept puts great emphasis on individual responsibility for their own quality of life and directly for their own way of ageing. Continuous participation in the family, community, public and private life in general is supported. This participation should enhance the quality of life as people get old. Therefore it is important to ask how the participation and the related values and attitudes change during the life. In practice, the active ageing concept is often connected with prolonged activity in the labour market or possibly with promoting leisure time activities of elderly people. However, the engagement or rather ongoing activity in all spheres of life seems to be crucial for enhancement of life quality and well-being in the process of ageing.
