The thesis deals with revenue structure of selected cultural nonprofit organizations (NGOs) in France. The nonprofit funding and the revenue mix of nonprofits remains an inherent question of nonprofit financial management, as NGOs operate in a market economy and their activities require material, technical, and financial security, which cannot be based merely on volunteering. The sustainable development of these organizations is impeded by financial problems that are specific to them and their particular character. The theoretical part of the thesis will focus on the nonprofit sector in France and its funding, while the main attention will be paid to revenue mix of cultural NGOs. The analytical part of the thesis will be based on the data of selected culutral nonprofits, estimating factors which affect diversification / concentration of revenues. As a conclusion of the thesis key factors affecting the revenue structure will be identified enabling to formulate the public policy implications towards NGOs and their funding.
Objectives: The thesis aims to map the revenue structure of selected cultural nonprofit organizations in the chosen region of France (Bretagne, Rennes) in order to determine the factors influencing nonprofit revenues strategy (diversification vs. concentration).
