Goal: Explain and evaluate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on economic and health outcomes. Procedures and methods: 1. I will explain proper terms that will be used throughout the thesis. In order to do that, I will first read various sources and materials. 2. I will write a brief description of lockdowns (e.g., duration, rules), and illustrate both economic and social repercussions, such as higher unemployment rate and higher rates of certain crimes, in particular domestic violence. 3. I will collect data by contacting 3 Czech institutes that have records of committed domestic crimes and I will ask them whether they could kindly provide the daily frequency and type of domestic abuse that have been reported for the last few years. 4. I will conduct simple statistical tests to investigate the correlation between measures of COVID-19 intensity (e.g., the number of daily cases or restriction of social activities) and domestic abuses.
