Localization is an important part of software development. The proper translation of applications helps a user to better utilize applications. Handling of localized resource files could be very time-consuming activity. It is necessary to leverage tooling like open source Translate Toolkit to make a process of translation as easy as possible.

The student will conduct research about available systems for localization of software resources. The student will implement a web application which allows developers to define and maintain projects with language resources. The student will research about suitable technologies for the development of the application (e.g.: Angular 2, React, Play Framework, Firebase). The student can integrate the application with existing open source tools. The overview and comparison of the existing tools will also be a part of the thesis.

There are two areas which should be supported by the web application:

• Price estimation for translation of new resources
• Integration with Atlassian stack

The student will deploy the application into a cloud environment. The deployment should be documented as a part of the thesis. The application should be verified with real users. The student should gather and incorporate user feedback into the application.

The thesis will be realized with Y Soft Corporation, a.s., a strategic industrial partner of the Faculty of Informatics.
