The thesis is, in particular, concerned with the persona of Antonín Fencl – an outstanding figure of the first decades of the 20th century. After the introductory chapters devoted to Fencl's life and works, and the context of Czech Shakespearean translation, the body of the thesis is formed by two chapters.
