The research in our group focuses to understand how the growth plant hormones regulate plant development, notably during female reproductive organ formation, fertilization and seed production. A spatially and temporally controlled local production of hormones is the key factor to activate proper developmental programs. In this project, you will be involved in the research aiming to analyse the effect of high temperatures on pollen tube growth and guidance in the female pistil tissues. You will be looking at the effects of plant hormones (treatments, mutants). You will be working with two plant models: Arabidopsis and oilseed rape. The methods you will employ are microscopy to record the phenotypes, plant genetics and physiology (use of mutants, hormone treatment), and molecular cloning with the generation of mutant lines by CRISPR-Cas9 based methods. We expect from you an interest in learning new things and motivation.
