Anotace

Bakalárska práca 'Rola amerického dolára v globálnej ekonomike' analyzuje vzostup dolára, jeho súčasnú rolu a názory odborníkov na budúcnosť dolára s cieľom posúdiť budúcnosť dolára. Hlavným teoretickým východiskom pre analýzu budúcej roli dolára je teória, ktorá klasifikuje základné funkcie medzinárodnej meny. Podľa autora si dolár s najväčšou pravdepodobnosťou udrží pozíciu dominantnej medzinárodnej meny v dohľadnej budúcnosti.

Abstract

Bachelor thesis 'The Role of the United States Dollar in the Global Economy' analyzes the rise of the US dollar, its current status and expert’s views on the dollar’s future in order to evaluate the future of the greenback. The standard taxonomy for characterizing the roles of international money is the key theoretical background for the analysis. The author concludes that the dollar will most probably retain the status of the dominant international currency in the foreseeable future.

2) Historical View - The US dollar in the 20th Century;

3) Present Situation - The US dollar in the 21st Century;

4) Future Scenarios - The International Monetary System in the 21st Century - The US dollar and the Alternatives.

The thesis should provide answers to the following questions:

* Why is the US dollar principal currency of the global economy?

* Which alternatives are being discussed as rivals to the US dollar?
