Hypertension is a common disorder that occurs in the age range of young, middle-aged, and elderly people worldwide. Arterial hypertension is a high level of blood pressure that results in long-term increased risk of illness and death from cardiovascular disease. Hypertension is the most important modifiable risk factor for renal and cardiovascular outcomes for heart failure, stroke, and coronary artery disease. The literature review of hypertension will be performed, including the analysis of its history, etiology and epidemiology, pathogenesis, the disease diagnosis, clinical signs, and finally prognosis and therapy. Through the collection of clinical data of patients, hypertension and its impact on quality of life and health will be described with a focus on current, especially pharmacological therapeutic methods.
