Cílem této studie je odhalit takové jevy jako sexismus a misogynie v online videohrách. Vzhledem k tomu, že videohry jsou prostorem, ve kterém lidé mohou vzájemně komunikovat, mohou tyto kontakty někdy způsobit nejen pozitivní emoce, ale i negativní. The objective of this study is to uncover such phenomena as sexism and misogyny in online video games. Since video games are the space in which people can communicate with each other, these contacts can sometimes cause not only positive emotions but also negative ones. This research aims to investigate influence of negative attitudes on women within the Russian community of online video game “League of Legends”. The main point is to understand, how do negative and abusive situations affect women players – especially their attitudes towards the online game's community, as well as on their play performance. The study is based on privilege theory as a systemic (dis)advantage related to gender identities.
