Cancer research, mainly of cancer metastasis, based on targeted proteomics tools is the key topic of this dissertation thesis. In the theoretical part, description of how metastatic cancer emerges is provided and an overall knowledge on metastasis as a multifactorial stepwise process driven by epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is summarized.
