Primárním cílem této práce bylo otestovat hypotézu, že metoda řízení projektu PRINCE2 může být začlenena do středně velkého podniku v Rusku; vložení je pro organizaci dostupné a představuje dobrou investici. K tomuto kvalitativnímu empirickému výzkumu přistupujeme jako k případové studii ve spolupráci s LLC „TIS“. LLC „TIS“ je středně velký fungující podnik v Rusku.

Abstract

The primary goal of this thesis is to test the hypothesis that the PRINCE2 project management method can be embedded into a medium-sized enterprise in Russia; the embedment is affordable for the organisation and represents a good investment. Objective of the thesis:

The goal of the thesis is to determine the cost of embedding the PRINCE2 project management method into a medium-sized enterprise in Russia.
PRINCE2 is an internationally recognised best practice which has been adopted by organisations around the world. The organisation in focus is a medium-sized enterprise engaged in the manufacturing of vehicle components and accessories located in Russia.

Approach and methods used:

This is a case study based thesis.

1. Background research which, at a minimum, addresses what is project management, what standard methods are available to organisations, comparisons of the methods, waterfall and agile delivery methods and their impact on method implementation;
2. A thorough analysis of the company's project management environment;
3. An embedment solution base on the company's corporate and project environments which ensures alignment with existing company policies, procedures, processes, standards, tools and techniques, terminology and methods.
4. Findings and Recommendations covering, at a minimum, how PRINCE2 can be embedded into the organisation including actions required, timelines and costs, a complete explanation of the potential financial and non-financial benefits, and an analysis of the potential risks and possible risk mitigation.

Self-study and extensive research are required. The student is expected to expand well beyond the literature listed and demonstrate substantial additional learning.

The student is required to submit a work plan with milestones early in the process and is expected to identify and clearly define the methods they will use to ensure fulfilment of the aim of the thesis. Monthly progress reports and regular consultations are mandatory.
