Cieľom tejto práce, uskutočnenej v spolupráci s firmou Red Hat, je navrhnúť a implementovať nástroj pre vyhľadávanie chýb (tzv. linter), zameraný na chyby špecifické pre knižnicu BeakerLib, teda cielený na testy, ktoré knižnicu BeakerLib využívajú. The aim of this thesis, realized in cooperation with Red Hat, is to design and implement a linter-like tool for BeakerLib-specific mistakes in tests which make use of the BeakerLib library. Zadání práce
The goal of this thesis is to implement a lint-like tool for shell-based tests written using BeakerLib shell-level testing library. The tool is to be implemented in Python as an extension of the bkrdoc documentation generator for BeakerLib tests (which can be modified in the process if necessary). The student is expected to become familiar with methods for finding bug patterns in source code and with BeakerLib and brkdoc, analyze mistakes common in BeakerLib-based tests, and implement detection of these common mistakes in the newly created tool. The tool should be designed in such a way that it will be possible to extend it with new bug-detection rules. The detected coding mistakes should be categorized and these categories and mistakes should be documented. Finally, the tool should be evaluated, both on artificial examples built for testing of the tool and on real-world BeakerLib-based test cases.
