Táto bakalárska práca prezentuje analýzu internej sémantickej štruktúry dvoch anglických slovies, menovite reply a respond. This bachelor’s diploma thesis presents an analysis of the internal semantic structure of two selected English verbs, namely, reply and respond. The aim of this bachelor's diploma thesis is to analyse a pair of synonymous verbs, namely, reply and respond. For the purpose of distinguishing their nuances, various English dictionaries will be consulted and the research will be based on data collected from the British National Corpus and the Corpus of Contemporary American English. The corpora are substantial constituents of the study because of their ability to portray the selected verbs in context.
