The main aim of my thesis is to discuss, as reference, the structural discourses of Minority politics inherent in parliamentary and constitutional practices of post-communist countries and to reveal their relative status under EU democracy transition and consolidation policies and to compare them to the minority right discourses in Turkey in its transitional history. My argument is that there is an unbalance between the articulation and practices of Minority rights in Turkey as with respect to other minorities living in Turkey and Turkish minorities living in Greece and Bulgaria. I would try to locate this argument within geo-political, historical and national understanding. There would be frequent references to post-communist experiences during transition and consolidation periods to reveal relative differences stemming from geo-political, historical and democratic concerns.
