Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to find a solution to the problems that currently occur in the production of coffee in the farm Villa Fran in Colombia. The production is divided into 4 macro-processes which were analysed and we suggested solutions to improve the current situation in the company. While at the moment the profitability of the company is high, it is losing a lot of money by the bottlenecks, especially those found in the drying part. In the first chapter of this work we will go through the theories that will allow us to carry out the work successfully, having as main focus the study of BPM, the definitions necessary for the analysis and feedback cycle that will be improved every day, in addition we will see the life cycle of this system mentioning how we will apply it to our study. In the second chapter we study the simulations that we are going to carry out, we will understand the software that we are going to use and the way in which this work will be conducted, starting with understanding the problem, making an exhaustive study to collect the necessary data to model, a sketch of what you want to capture in the simulation, build it, verify it and start experimenting to find the necessary solutions. In the third part we will find a small introduction to the world of coffee in order to make the reader understand how the current process is since coffee is planted until it reaches its coffee rate. And finally we find all the above applied, after 6 models developed, we gave 5 solutions which were qualified and weighted to find the one with the greatest benefit to the coffee grower, winning the proposal that called to invest and grow in production. …víceméně
