Abstract
Lektiny jsou proteiny schopné specificky a reverzibilně vázat sacharidy a nacházejí se ve všech živých organismech, kde mohou mít různé role. Účastní se imunitní reakce, rozpoznávání buněk, jejich komunikace a také adheze patogenu na hostitelskou buňku. Právě tato funkce může mít významný vliv na vznik onemocnění. Lectins are proteins able to bind sacharides specifically and reversibly and they are found in all living organisms where they can have different roles. They are involved in the immune response, cell rocognition, communication and adhesion of the pathogen to the host cell. This function can have significant effect on disease formation.
