Impact of Nested Virtualization to Benchmark Accuracy
Anotace
Cieľom tejto práce bolo zmerať a analyzovať vplyv rôznych kombinácií virtualizačných techník a verzií Javy na stabilitu výsledkov benchmarkov. Začiatok práce je zameraný na priblíženie aktuálneho kontextu, použitých nástrojov, softwaru a hardwaru nasledovaný krátkym opisom testovaných scenárov. Zvyšná časť práce obsahuje popis procesu benchmarkovania, analýzu výsledkov a ich zhodnotenie.
Abstract
The goal of this thesis was to measure and analyze the impact of various combinations of virtualization styles and Java versions on the stability of benchmark results. The beginning of the thesis is focused on explaining the current context, used tools, software and hardware, followed by short description of used virtualization scenarios. The remaining part of the thesis is dedicated to description of the benchmarking process, analysis of the results and their evaluation.
Zadání práce
In this thesis, student will investigate how virtualization, and especially nested virtualization, technologies are affecting performance and stability of various Java benchmark types – CPU, time, network, bytecode, IO.
Anohter impact may be from the benchmarked software itself. Some software, including java, can be virtualization-aware and adapt themselves. Thus student will use JDK with self-awareness off, partial self awareness, and full awareness. The thesis will focus on running benchmarks in several virtualization scenarios, and in-depth analysis of results.
