Tato práce zkoumá rozdílné odkazy T. E. Lawrence v západní a arabské historiografii. Po stanovení faktografického záznamu arabského povstání a poválečného uspořádání sleduje konstrukci Lawrencovy pověsti v britské biografii a filmu a následně analyzuje perspektivu arabských historiků a Edwardem Saidem. After establishing the factual record of the Arab Revolt and the post-war settlement, it traces the construction of Lawrence's reputation in British biography and film, then analyses the perspective of Arab historians and Edward Said.
