The thesis reflects the current economic falsification of the free market concept in the context of liberal political philosophy. Since the core value of liberalism is freedom, traditional liberal political philosophy considers free market as an instrumental value as it supposedly leads to maximal individual freedom. However, since a significant part of the current economic debate falsifies the concept of free market (based on the existence of externalities – in the market unreflected effects of individual actions and unequal information access – unevenly informed individuals can’t make rational choices to fairly maximize their individual freedom as the model presupposes), the instrumental value of free market is in question, and policies manifesting it are in fact in a direct conflict with the core value of liberalism - individual freedom. Therefore, liberal philosophy shall support a regulated market that demands direct internalization of environmental damage as the interconnectedness of the planet inevitably results in the damage to individual rights of property of other humans. The goal of this thesis is to (1) ponder the implications of economic falsification of free market model in the context of political philosophy, (2) point to the conflict of free-market policies with the core values of liberalism - individual freedom and the right to property as stemming from the contemporary economic research, (3) disprove the validity of the free market argument in the context of political philosophy, (4) propose the need for the formation of liberal political philosophy that reflects the conflict of environment subsidies resulting in a demand for a regulated market as a necessary tool for the protection of the right of property, and, finally, (5) support the deep ecology thesis that “Humans have no right to damage the environmental ecosystems except to satisfy vital human needs” in the contexts of anthropocentric political philosophy since any ecosystem damage conflicts with the right of property.
