The main focus of the master thesis is to research different approaches for creating immersive experiences for book reading in virtual reality. The approaches should try to preserve the qualities of traditional reading and combine it with the potential of VR. The practical part will consist of creating a prototype that implements suggested approaches. They will show different solutions for telling stories in VR in which the act of reading is the main mechanic. The goal is to find the best balance between the reading, using readers imagination, visualisation and interactive potential of the VR. The approaches in the prototype will be tried out in the user testing to find out the most enjoyable book reading experience in VR.
