Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá distribucí spojovacích výrazů (conjuncts) v psaném novinovém diskurzu. Teoretická část práce představuje spojovací výrazy jako důležitý prostředek, který významnou měrou přispívá ke kohezi textu, a tudíž i k celkové srozumitelnosti diskurzu. The present thesis examines the distribution of conjuncts in newspaper discourse, namely in the written newspaper reporting. The theoretical part introduces conjuncts as an important discoursal tool contributing to the textual cohesion and thus to the comprehensibility of the whole discourse. Zadání práce
The present thesis examines the distribution and functions of conjuncts in newspaper discourse, namely in the written newspaper reporting. The research is based on an analysis of a compiled corpus comprising ten articles from two distinctive newspapers. The main aim of the analysis is to estimate the occurrence rates of conjuncts in the language material and the functions they perform in newspaper discourse. The minor aim relates to the possible differences between the two types of newspapers: broadsheets (represented by the Guardian in the corpus) and tabloids (represented by the Sun).
