Magisterská diplomová práca sa snaží podať prehľad o súčasných možnostiach financovanie experimentálnej kinematografie na území Českej republiky po roku 2000. Cieľom tejto práce je najmä odpovedať na otázku: Ako by sa mohlo zlepšiť/zvýšiť financovanie experimentálnej kinematografie v Českej republike? Teoretická časť práce sa zaoberá vymedzením pojmu experimentálny film, popisom súčasného stavu financovania a možnostiam čerpania financií. Zároveň sa snažíme načrtnúť možnosti uplatnenia tvorby experimentálnych filmárov v Českej republike. Praktická časť práce poskytuje originálne rozhovory s konkrétnymi filmármi o tom, z akých zdrojov boli ich doterajšie projekty financované, ako a na čo konkrétne boli financie použité a prípadne ich vízie toho ako financovanie experimentálnej kinematografie v tunajšom prostredí zmeniť, prípadne zlepšiť. Na základe týchto rozhovorov prezentujeme našu stratégiu ako zlepšiť súčasný stav, prípadne aké alternatívne zdroje financovania by sa dali využívať. Práca postupuje metódou orálnej histórie. Mapuje v súčasnosti dostupné spôsoby financovania experimentálnej kinematografie a skúma ako konkrétne sú tieto prostriedky tvorcami experimentálnych filmov ziskavané a využívané.

The master’s thesis attempts to give an overview of the current possibilities of financing experimental cinematography in the Czech Republic after 2000. The main aim of this work is to answer the question: How could the experimental cinematography funding in the Czech Republic be improved or increased? The theoretical part deals with the definition of the experimental film, the description of the current state of financing and the possibilities of attaining more money, and at the same time we try to outline the chances for experimental filmmakers to apply in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the work provides original interviews with specific filmmakers about how their projects have been funded (from which sources), how and specifically what the finances were used for, and possibly their vision of changing / improving the funding of experimental cinematography in the local environment. On the basis of these interviews, we present our strategy on how to enhance the current situation or which alternative sources of funding could be used. The work proceeds with the oral history method and maps the currently available funding methods for experimental cinematography and examines how experimental filmmakers create and distribute them.
