Annotation:
The thesis deals with the eligibility of using crowdfunding as an alternative way of raising funds for NGOs. The theoretical part of the thesis will focus on the nonprofit sector in the Czech Republic and its funding, while the main attention will be paid to the crowdfunding phenomenon. The analytical part of the thesis will be based on the data of successfully finished projects launched at the Czech crowdfunding platform Hithit, estimating factors which affect project overfunding. As a conclusion of the thesis key factors affecting campaign overfunding will be identified enabling us to formulate the public policy implications towards NGOs and their funding in the Czech Republic.
Objectives: This thesis aims to bring a new and innovative approach into crowdfunding utilization by NGOs. Analysing the factors affecting campaigns overfunding, the thesis provides a clear answer, of whether the matter of raising funds on crowdfunding resembles between project creator in form of NGOs and other entity.
