Zadání práce
The main aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze Spain’s participation in the American Revolutionary War and determine to what degree its involvement may have influenced the victory of the newly established republic in terms of the provision of finances, information, and supplies. In particular, the contribution of Bernardo de Gálvez, governor of Spanish Louisiana, will be examined. As previous research has focused mainly on the aid of France to the Continental Army war efforts, Spain’s contribution to the American Revolutionary War represents an area of interest, which has not been studied in the same depth as the impact of the French alliance of 1778 on the outcome of the American Revolutionary War.
