Course objectives

The subject follows the content of the subject SP3941 Field: Psychopedia 1, which further deepens. The part of the content is a repetition of the main starting points of the subject SP3941 Field: Psychopedia 1. Furthermore, the subject SP 3942 Field: Psychopedia 2 provides additional and deepening information on the issues of Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders. A substantial part of the content consists of Multiple Disorders issues. People with disorders of intellectual development in adult life are described.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to: identify and describe findings from the field of Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders; analyze current scientific findings from the mentioned areas (Down's syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, combined disabilities, adulthood of people with mental disabilities); apply approaches to people with Down's syndrome, autism spectrum disorders and combined disabilities in practice; identify the needs of adults with mental disabilities and propose an individual development plan with the aim of the maximum possible degree of social inclusion

• Down's syndrome: characteristics, etiology, classification, personality specifics. Options for inclusion and support from early years to adulthood. Farmers. Literature. Family of a child with DS. Nonprofit organizations. Autistic spectrum disorders: characteristics, etiology, prevalence, classification. Alternative and augmentative communication systems suitable for people with autism spectrum disorder. Options for inclusion and support from early years to adulthood. Experts. Literature. Autistic spectrum disorders: characteristics, etiology, prevalence, classification. Alternative and augmentative communication systems suitable for people with autism spectrum disorder. Options for inclusion and support from early years to adulthood. Experts. Literature. Autistic spectrum disorders at school: diagnosis, characteristics of manifestations and their solutions, adjustment of conditions and environment. Principles of working with children and pupils with autism spectrum disorders in inclusive schools and schools established according to section 16, paragraph 9 of the Education Act as amended. Comprehensive diagnostics with a focus on autism spectrum disorders. Family of a child with ASD. Nonprofit organizations Other genetically determined syndromes - for example, Edwards syndrome. Concomitant disability with multiple defects. Characteristics, classification, diagnosis. Options for inclusion and support from early years to adulthood. Adulthood of people with mental disabilities. Specifics in the field of behavior, socialization, relationships, communication, sexuality, independence, education, professional application and spending free time. Support options. Teaching methods

ectures, class discussion, group projects, presentations by professionals in the sectors. Interactive seminar with active participation of students and discussion. Creation and presentation of tasks and aids directly in the seminar. Essay. Additional information will be provided by the teacher at the beginning of the semester.

Assessment methods

Final assessment: written exam. The final written exam consists of both closed and open questions. You need to get at least 70% correct answers to pass. Part of the successful completion of the subject is the completion of individual tasks and their presentation in class.
