Course objectives
This course is continuation of the course Population and settlement geography 1. Seminars focused on acquiring practical analytic methods are an integral part of the course. Learning outcomes can be summarized as follows: competence to analyze basic demographic phenomenons and processes; competence to apply basic methods of demographic research; competence to interpret basic results of demographic research.
Syllabus
  • Contents of lectures:
  • 1. Demographic transition. Second demographic transition.
  • 2. Population dynamics - second part (marriages, divorces, abortions, general analysis of population dynamics).
  • 3. Population mobility (mobility, migration, commuting and other types of territorial movements, situation in the world and in the Czech Republic).
  • 4. Population policy.
