Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the students will be knowledgeable about health preventive physical activity, which is the starting point of deliberate physical activity of a student (person) in the context of an adequate physical activity regime and active lifestyle. On the basis of theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations of physical activity, the students will be able to participate in the development of a physical activity programme for children.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will:
- Understand the theoretical requirements for health preventive physical activity, which is an essential part of the physical regime and a healthy lifestyle,
- Be ready to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice,
- Be able to use the knowledge and skills in the development of students’ physical activity programmes.
Syllabus
  • Content of seminars:
  • 1. Significance of physical activity for health. Physical activity regime and health-oriented fitness;
  • 2. Basic processes and factors influencing movement learning;
  • 3. Supporting and influencing muscular fitness and flexibility;
  • 4. Supporting and influencing aerobic fitness and body composition;
  • 5. Hygiene of physical activity and PA environment, safety of physical activity;
  • 6. Curricular and extra-curricular physical activity, individual physical activity programmes;
  • 7. Physical activity of individuals with health disability;
  • 8. Warm-up, stretching, relaxing and strengthening exercises;
  • 9. Psychomotor exercises;
  • 10. Fitness exercises;
  • 11. Exercises in a natural environment;
  • 12. Unconventional physical activity for children.
