Course objectives
The objective of this subject is to indroduce students basic data sources for analysis and evaluation of tourism development. Students will also learn the principles of designing the research project and the methods of research. Attention is also paid to interpretative tools.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- identify and find the necessary data for research,
- evaluate the quality of data sources,
- to design the structure and procedures of the research project,
- to evaluate and apply appropriate methods of research on the chosen phenomenon of tourism,
- to interpret achived results.

Teaching methods
The subject is taught in the form of thematic blocks. Emphasis is placed on introducing specific methods and exercising them during consultations. Reading of the obligatory literature (theory) is expected.
Assessment methods
The evaluation consists of verifying the student's practical skills (based on the project - i.e. the ability of argumentation, 60 % of grade), and testing his theoretical knowledge (oral defence of the project 40 % of grade). Erasmus students are not subject to any attendance requirements and can attend the exam directly after completing their individual assignment.
