- Course objectives
- Business Ethics (SDEP) The course Business Ethics in its first part basically explains the foundations of business ethics and provides the essential methodological procedure which can also be used for the integration of ethics into entrepreneurial strategy. The second part defines the ethical dimension of fundamental economic problems and deals with issues related to the application of ethical perspectives in practical life, provides description and explanation of the models of ethical decision making of business subjects, corporate and business culture, corporate codes of ethics, ethical management and leadership. The third part is devoted to the matters of economic and ethical aspects of enterprise economy (the efficiency of moral and legal sanctions, the role of public opinion etc.), managerial ethics, focuses on ethical problems of the quality of managerial decision-making in concrete situations (different forms of discrimination and corruption, violation of personal dignity and privacy, work evaluation, dismissals etc.), profession and professional ethics, ethical and ecological aspects of entrepreneurship, moral responsibility of businesses for the future generations conditions of life. The content of the course, coordinated with the corresponding courses Introduction to Applied Philosophy, Introduction to Political Science and Sociology of Organisation and Bureaucracy, contributes to enhancing the knowledge of social science among economics students majoring in business and administrative disciplines. The course is completed by a seminar essay on a chosen ethical topic from social practice. Examination: oral.
